What is Yorgan?
Yorgan brings YNAB's proven zero-based budgeting method to Turkish-speaking users and to an inflationary economic reality. One sentence sums it up: give every lira a job.
You assign every unit of money you have to a category; you plan before you spend, and feel no regret after. Yorgan isn't an "expense tracking" app — most competitors look backward ("here's what you spent"), Yorgan looks forward ("here's what you've allocated your money to").
The Four Rules
Yorgan is built on a Turkish- and inflation-adapted version of YNAB's four rules:
- Give every lira a job — every kuruş on hand is assigned to a category; when "unassigned money" hits zero, your budget is balanced.
- Break up big expenses — irregular costs like annual insurance, holidays, or school fees get split into monthly slices.
- The plan changes — that's fine — when a category runs over, you move money from another one; flexibility, not guilt.
- Age your money — cover this month's expenses with last month's income (see the "Age of Money" metric in Reports).
Who It's For
- Salaried employees near or in the credit-card minimum-payment cycle, looking for decision support before they spend.
- Saving couples who want a shared budget, goal-based saving, and a mix of TRY, foreign currency, and gold.
- Freelancers with irregular income who still want a real zero-based budget.
What Makes It Different for Turkey
Yorgan builds in two things YNAB doesn't have:
- Installment support — most card purchases in Türkiye are paid in installments; Yorgan splits them across future months automatically (see Credit Cards & Installments).
- Multi-currency and gold — TRY, USD, EUR, GBP, and gram-gold accounts consolidate into a single net worth (see Multi-Currency & Gold).
